With the 2025 WAEC and NECO Senior Secondary School Examinations fast approaching, the Principal and Director of Model Secondary School, Maitama, Dr. Judith Olure, has called on parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s academic preparation.

Speaking during an interactive session with parents of SS3 students, Dr. Olure emphasized the importance of parental support in helping students stay focused on their studies while maintaining a balanced mental and physical well-being.

She urged parents to foster a distraction-free study environment at home, encourage proper nutrition, and ensure a structured revision plan.

Other school officials also addressed concerns about excessive academic pressure, warning that it could lead to anxiety and burnout.

Instead, they advised parents to strike a balance between study time and adequate rest while engaging their children in open discussions about their progress.

They also reinforced the school’s strict stance against examination malpractice, reminding parents of the importance of integrity in academic success.

Parents were further encouraged to closely monitor their children’s behavior, be vigilant against negative peer influences, and take proactive steps to address any signs of misconduct.

The school management clarified that no graduation fees were required, urging students to remain focused on their studies.
