The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has successfully coordinated the return of 294 Nigerian migrants stranded in Agadez, Niger Republic, back to the country.
In a statement issued in NEMA’s Kano Operations Office confirmed that, the repatriation exercise was carried out via two chartered flights, both of which landed at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.
The first flight, operated by Sky Mali, brought in 148 returnees, while the second flight carried 146 others, completing the operation.
Upon arrival, the returnees were taken to the Hajj Camp Terminal in Kano for documentation and profiling. The process was conducted in collaboration with various humanitarian and security agencies.
NEMA stated that all returnees received financial support for onward transportation to their respective home states, as part of efforts to ensure their smooth reintegration.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to assisting distressed Nigerians abroad and emphasized the importance of safe, legal migration channels.
