Vice President Kashim Shettima has pledged that the late Brigadier General Musa Uba of the Nigerian Army and his family will receive full honour from the nation.

Toscad News reports that General Musa Uba and several other military personnel were recently killed by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.

Speaking on Wednesday during his visit to Birnin Kebbi, following the recent abduction of schoolgirls in the state, Shettima emphasized that the sacrifice made by the fallen officers will remain unforgettable.

“We honour the ultimate sacrifice made by our brave officers. To the family of the late Brigadier General Musa Uba, we say: his sacrifice will never be forgotten,” the Vice President stated.

He stressed that whenever a soldier lays down his life in defence of Nigeria, the nation’s collective spirit is deeply affected.

According to him, the government remains committed to honouring the slain general, his family, and all security personnel who pay the supreme price for the country.

Shettima also condemned the abduction of the Kebbi schoolgirls, describing it as an assault on the conscience of the nation.

He noted that Nigeria has faced a recent rise in terrorist activities, with numerous kidnappings and killings reported over the past few days.
