Governor Yusuf Reshuffles Kano Leadership, Appoints Key

In a strategic effort to enhance governance and service delivery, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved a series of high-profile appointments and promotions across key sectors.

 

The announcement, made by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, highlights the administration’s commitment to excellence, efficiency, and inclusivity. The latest appointments bring in experienced professionals and dynamic leaders to strengthen the state’s development agenda.

 

Key Appointments:

 

Architect Hauwa Hassan Tudun Wada has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA). A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects and Vice Chairperson of Female Architects in Nigeria, she previously worked as a Professional Architect at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA). Her appointment marks a significant milestone for women in the architectural field in Kano.

 

Mustapha Muhammad has been named Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and Deputy Official Spokesperson. With over 20 years of experience as a senior broadcaster at the BBC, he is expected to strengthen the administration’s media strategy.

 

Auwal Lawan Aramposu has been appointed as Deputy Managing Director of the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA). He brings administrative and technological expertise from his previous roles as Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on ICT.

 

Dr. Tukur Dayyabu Minjibir has been named Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture. A Senior Lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, and former Managing Director of Kano Agricultural Supply Company, he specializes in agricultural mechanization, aligning with the state’s vision for modernized agriculture.

 

 

Promotions:

 

Zulaihat Yusuf Aji has been promoted to Deputy Managing Director of Radio Kano. A seasoned journalist with extensive media experience, she previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast at the Government House Media and Public Relations Directorate.

 

Engineer Abduljabbar Nanono has been elevated to Deputy Managing Director of KHEDCO. With a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy and prior experience as Senior Special Assistant on Renewable Energy, his promotion underscores the administration’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

 

 

All appointments and promotions take immediate effect as Governor Yusuf calls on the new officials to demonstrate dedication and efficiency in their respective roles. The move is part of ongoing efforts to drive progress and ensure effective governance in Kano State.
