Pilgrim arrested in Saudi Arabia over alleged attempt to kill father in Medina to secure paradise

A man has been arrested in Saudi Arabia after allegedly attempting to kill his sick father inside the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

According to reports, the suspect tried to strangle his father within the premises of the holy mosque, one of Islam’s most sacred sites. Security officials quickly intervened and apprehended him before any fatal harm was done.

During questioning, the man reportedly told authorities that he believed his father would be guaranteed entry into paradise if he died inside the mosque.

The suspect has since been taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing.

The incident was reported to have occurred in February 2026, according to Golf Insider.
