The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Felix Theman, has appealed to motorists along the Gwagwalada–Giri highway to remain patient as efforts intensify to ease the lingering gridlock.
Speaking in an interview with journalists, Theman explained that the traffic disruption stemmed from a misunderstanding involving truck drivers, which has since been resolved with the relevant authorities.
He, however, noted that the situation escalated this morning because many of the trucks blocking the highway could not be moved due to flat batteries. According to him, the FRSC intervened by hiring batteries to help the stranded drivers restart their vehicles and continue their journeys.
Theman urged commuters to exercise restraint and cooperate by using the only available lane until all trucks are fully cleared from the route. He also assured that FRSC personnel are on ground to manage traffic, enforce lane discipline, and maintain order along both the Gwagwalada–Giri and Gwagwalada–Kuje.
