Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been officially installed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland in a traditional ceremony held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo Town.

The title was conferred by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, during a colourful event attended by dignitaries, traditional rulers, and community leaders.

Reacting to the honour, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, described the installation as well deserved.

He commended Seyi Tinubu for his growing engagement with young people and his philanthropic initiatives, noting that the title represents responsibility rather than mere recognition.

According to Ogundoyin, the Okanlomo title reflects core Yoruba values such as service, leadership, excellence, and commitment to community development.

The installation has attracted public attention, coming months after a closed-door meeting involving Seyi Tinubu, Nollywood actress Fathia Balogun Williams, and Alapini, which previously sparked widespread discussions on social media.

The event further highlights Seyi Tinubu’s increasing visibility in leadership and community-focused roles within Yorubaland, marking a notable moment in his public life.
