Wunmi Aloba, widow of the late singer Mohbad, has responded to allegations from her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, that she was unfaithful to her husband before his passing.
Speaking on TVC on February 21, Wunmi refuted claims that Mohbad questioned the paternity of their child due to alleged infidelity. She addressed Joseph Aloba’s repeated public calls for a DNA test, clarifying that while she has no objections to the test itself, she objects to how the demand is being made.
“Legally, he doesn’t have the right to ask for a DNA test, but I have nothing to hide,” Wunmi stated. “The issue isn’t the test; it’s the way he’s going about it. Initially, he said Nigerians wanted it, then he claimed Mohbad’s friend told him my husband only had sex with me once, so I couldn’t have conceived.”
Expressing her shock, Wunmi revealed that Joseph Aloba had once been instrumental in her marriage to Mohbad, even taking her to prayer centers and giving her substances to aid conception.
While maintaining that she is open to a DNA test, she insisted on conducting it on her own terms, rejecting her father-in-law’s attempt to make it the defining factor in their dispute.
