The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, has declared a statewide day of fasting and prayer as insecurity continues to intensify across the state.

In a broadcast on Saturday, Governor Zulum said the decision was aimed at seeking divine guidance and intervention to confront the persistent security challenges affecting communities in Borno.

“As a people of faith, we believe our security strategies must be supported by prayer. I hereby declare Monday, 24th November 2025, as a Statewide Day of Fasting and Prayer for the restoration of peace in Borno State and the country,” he announced.

Zulum called on all residents regardless of religious background, to join the exercise and pray for enduring peace, unity, and progress in both Borno and Nigeria as a whole.

He emphasized that collective prayer and fasting could strengthen communal resilience and inspire hope as the state continues to battle ongoing threats.
