Warri Wolves FC emerged victorious in the final of the Delta State Football Association (FA) Cup, defeating Sapele Lions 2-1 at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba. The win secured them the prestigious trophy and a cash prize of one million naira.

The highly anticipated match drew hundreds of passionate football fans and supporters from within and beyond the state. The first half ended in a 1-1 stalemate, with both teams displaying impressive ball control and tactical play.

However, Warri Wolves dominated the second half with a more strategic and energetic performance, which ultimately led to their decisive second goal. Speaking after the match, team captain Innocent Orugbe credited the victory to teamwork and divine favor.

In the women’s category, Delta Queens FC of Asaba outclassed Delta Babes FC of Warri with a convincing 2-0 victory, securing the championship title and a cash prize of three hundred thousand naira.

Delta State Football Association Chairman, Godwin Adode, praised the participating teams and sponsors for their sportsmanship and commitment to the competition. He also expressed appreciation to the Delta State Government for its continued support in fostering sports development.

The tournament concluded with a grand trophy presentation, with medals awarded to players and officials in recognition of their efforts.
