The three young siblings who were brutally murdered and hidden inside a deep freezer in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 8, 2025.
The victims—Ejezie Chikaima Daviana (9), Ejezie Chimziterem Dominica (7), and Ejezie Chimdilim David (5)—were reportedly killed by unidentified assailants while at home. Their mother, Mrs. Chikazor Ejezie, a lecturer and nurse, had left for an examination when the tragic incident occurred.
Their father, Mr. Udochukwu Ejezie, confirmed the burial arrangements in an announcement on Sunday, February 23. According to the statement, a series of vigils and funeral masses will be held in their honor:
Thursday, March 6: Mass for the dead at St. Anslem’s Catholic Parish, Irrua, Edo State, and a vigil mass at St. Luke’s Catholic Chaplaincy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, by 5 PM.
Friday, March 7: Vigil mass at the Ejezie family compound in Umueze Uga, Aguata LGA, Anambra State, by 4 PM.
Saturday, March 8: The bodies will leave Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital’s morgue at 7 AM, with the burial mass scheduled for 10 AM at their hometown in Umueze Uga.
Sunday, March 9: A Thanksgiving Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Umueze, Uga.
Mr. Ejezie also addressed misinformation circulating on social media, clarifying that the children had not yet been buried. He urged the public to respect the family’s mourning period and refrain from spreading false reports.
No arrests have been made in connection with the murders, though an autopsy has been conducted, and the results are pending. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
