Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has vowed to rally governors across Nigeria to ensure the timely payment of Hajj fares for pilgrims ahead of the 2025 pilgrimage.

During a courtesy visit to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) headquarters in Abuja, Governor Zulum reaffirmed his commitment to supporting seamless Hajj operations. As the leader of the North-East Governors Forum, he emphasized the need for early engagement with state governors to prevent misinformation and enhance coordination.

Recognizing past challenges, particularly in VIP management, Zulum advised NAHCON to appoint competent personnel for handling VIP affairs and ensure fair space allocation. Despite previous hurdles, he commended NAHCON’s efforts and expressed confidence in a successful 2025 pilgrimage.

NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, welcomed the governor’s backing and provided updates on preparations, including secured spaces for Nigerian pilgrims. He urged intending participants to complete their payments promptly, as over 52,000 Hajj slots have already been allocated.
