President Buhari Appoints Nairu Baballe Ila SA Legislative Matters

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Alhaji Nasiru Baballe Ila as the Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, House of Representatives.

A statement by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, says Alhaji Baballe replaces Alhaji Umar El-Yakub, who was recently appointed Minister.

Hon Nasiru Baballe Ila was born on July 14th, 1969 to Alhaji Baballe Ila, a renowned transporter and philanthropist. He is an indigene of Tarauni Local Government Area of Kano State, Nigeria. He is a businessman and politician representing Tarauni Constituency at the National Assembly.

Hon. Nasiru Ila Early Life

Hon Nasiru began his education at Gandun Nasarawa Primary School in 1971 and graduated in 1978 with the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He had his secondary education at Kanaji Government Secondary School, Kano State (1978-1979) and Aminu Kano Community College (1980-1982). He proceeded to Victory College, Alexandria in 1982 and obtained a diploma in 1984. He obtained an advanced diploma at Hove Davies College, UK in 1985. He also studied at the West London College from 1985 to 1987. 

Hon. Nasiru Ila Career

Hon Nasiru began managing his father’s haulage company in 1989. He later set up his own company, Ila Enterprises Limited which gave birth to several other companies both locally and abroad. They include, Noma Oil Mill Limited which is involved in the processing of ground nuts, soya beans and cotton seeds into oil and cake, Barr Head Kids Company, an off-shore company based in Glasgow, Scotland which processes leather skins imported from Nigeria into finished products for export to other parts of Europe, America and Asia, Ila Cotton Ginneries which also processes raw cotton into lint and seeds for exports and Tam –Chem Nigeria Limited involved in the importation of industrial chemicals. His venture and successes in private business were not accidental.

He worked in the following firms; Ila Cotton Ginneries (1992-1993) Tan-Chem Nigeria Limited (1991-1999), Barr Head KIds Co, Glascow, Scotland (1991-1998), Noma Oil Limited (1990-2005), Alhaji Baballe and Sons Ltd (1989-1998), Arewa Taneries Limited (1989-1998), Ila Ent Limited (1988-2011), and Arewa Taneries Limited (1987-1989).
