Oru Leonard Oru, FRPA, MINIM, has been selected as a recipient of the Media and Advocacy Recognition Award by the Nigerian Institution of Environmental Engineers (NIEE), Abuja Chapter.
The prestigious honor acknowledges his outstanding contributions to environmental engineering and sustainable development in Nigeria.
According to the NIEE, Oru’s dedication, leadership, and service have made a significant impact on the environmental engineering profession and the wider society.
His advocacy efforts and commitment to promoting environmental sustainability were highlighted as key reasons for his recognition.
The award will be officially presented during the 2025 Public Lecture and Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the NIEE Abuja Chapter.
The event is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, and will bring together distinguished professionals and stakeholders from across the environmental engineering sector.
The Institution encouraged Oru to join in celebrating his accomplishments alongside other honorees who have contributed meaningfully to the advancement of environmental engineering in Nigeria.
