The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that the Warri-Itakpe Train Service (WITS) will officially resume operations on Wednesday, October 29, following a brief suspension for essential maintenance and safety checks.

In a statement, NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, explained that the temporary halt was necessary to carry out critical repairs, track inspections, and roll stock maintenance.

According to the statement, the measures are intended to enhance passenger safety, comfort, and service reliability.

The NRC also confirmed that its online booking portal will reopen at 12 noon on Monday, October 27, giving passengers the opportunity to secure tickets 48 hours before the full service resumes.

Operations will restart with a seven-coach train, consisting of six standard-class coaches and one business-class coach, according to Unyimadu.

The NRC extended its apologies to passengers for any inconvenience caused during the suspension and thanked the public for their patience and understanding.
