Yoruba nation agitator Sunday Igboho has sparked widespread reactions after publicly stating that he practices traditional spirituality despite identifying as a Christian.

Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, made the remarks in a viral video shared across social media.

Speaking before a gathering of traditional rulers, he addressed questions about his faith, background, and spiritual beliefs.

In the footage, the activist said his use of traditional charms does not contradict his Christian identity.

“I am a Christian, but I use charms. I embrace all religions,” he said. Referencing prominent cleric Muideen Ajayi Bello, he added that religious identity does not prevent individuals from engaging with different spiritual traditions.

Igboho explained that he was born into a Christian family but was also exposed to traditional practices growing up.

According to him, his father was a babalawo (traditional priest) in Modakeke, which influenced his spiritual training.

The activist was born in Igboho, an ancient town in Oyo State. His family later relocated to Modakeke in Osun State, where he was raised.

His comments have since generated intense debate online, with supporters defending his openness about cultural traditions, while critics question the compatibility of Christianity and traditional spiritual practices.
