Management of Prime Care Hospitals has dismissed a false social media claims alleging that popular content creator Mukoro Mitchelle, widely known as King Mitchy, died at its Abuja facility.
The hospital issued the clarification following online reports—attributed to statements from the influencer’s management—claiming that King Mitchy was rushed to the hospital after allegedly ingesting a harmful substance and later died.
In an official disclaimer shared on its Instagram page, Prime Care Hospitals categorically denied the reports, stating that the content creator was neither admitted nor pronounced dead at the facility.
“The management of Prime Care Hospitals wishes to inform the public that the announcement of the alleged death of Miss Mukoro Mitchelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, at our facility in Abuja is false,” the statement read. “King Mitchy was never a patient in our hospital and did not pass away here.”
The hospital added that it is taking steps to curb the spread of what it described as misinformation.
“We are working with authorities to investigate the source of this misinformation and will take all necessary legal actions against those responsible. Please verify information through our official channels before sharing,” the management said.
The controversy erupted about nine hours earlier after a post appeared on King Mitchy’s official Instagram page announcing her death. The post included a video that purportedly showed her consuming a bleach agent during a TikTok live stream and claimed she was treated at “Prime Hospital Abuja.”
The statement read in part:
“We are deeply heartbroken to share that our beloved Michelle has passed on. Despite all efforts from the medical team here in Abuja, we were told her condition was critical, and sadly, she could not be revived. Rest in peace, Michelle. You will never be forgotten.”
Another message attached to the post appealed for urgent help, claiming her mother had collapsed in Lagos and was hospitalised.
The conflicting accounts have triggered confusion and concern among fans and followers. As of the time of filing this report, King Mitchy’s death has not been independently confirmed by her family or relevant authorities, and no official statement has been issued by law enforcement or medical regulators.
