Mohbad’s friend, Damola, has disputed claims by the late singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, that Mohbad and Wunmi never held a traditional wedding.
Damola shared videos showing himself and others serving as Mohbad’s groomsmen, holding bundles of Naira notes and taking part in what appeared to be a traditional ceremony.
Earlier, a video of Mr. Aloba surfaced online in which he insisted that Mohbad and Wunmi only had a wedding introduction, not a traditional wedding.
He claimed he had no prior knowledge of the event and was only handed a cloth to participate upon arrival. According to him, the family head was supposed to attend a proper traditional wedding, which he said did not happen.
Mr. Aloba further alleged that Mohbad had promised to marry Wunmi after she gave birth but reneged on the promise, claiming Wunmi was unfaithful. He said this was why he insisted on a DNA test for Liam, the son Mohbad left behind.
Damola’s videos aim to challenge Mr. Aloba’s version of events, showing Mohbad’s involvement in a traditional ceremony, with friends and family actively participating, including the customary spraying of cash.
