In a proactive move to safeguard lives and property, the Nasarawa State Police Command has deployed over 4,000 personnel, including undercover operatives, to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration across the state’s 13 local government areas.
According to a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, security measures have been intensified at all prayer grounds and recreational centers to prevent any potential threats during the festivities.
Commissioner of Police, Shettima Jauro, has instructed the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit to conduct comprehensive security sweeps at Eid prayer venues before worshippers arrive, reinforcing public safety.
To ease movement, traffic wardens have been strategically positioned along key routes, while tactical teams will conduct extensive highway patrols to protect commuters.
The Commissioner has also urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities promptly, and cooperate with security agencies to ensure a safe and incident-free celebration.
