Bandits who abducted the Ojibara of Bayagan in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Kamilu Salami, have reportedly demanded a ransom of ₦150 million from the community for his release.

Reports gathered that the abductors contacted the community in the early hours of sunday and allowed the monarch to speak directly with his people to confirm that he was in their custody.

During the brief conversation, the Ojibara was said to have pleaded with the community to negotiate with the kidnappers to secure his quick release.

He also revealed that several other individuals were abducted from a neighbouring community as the bandits moved him away from his farm.

The traditional ruler was kidnapped around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday when armed men carrying AK-47 rifles invaded his farmland and took him away.
