Nigerian international football star, Ademola Lookman, paid a courtesy visit this week to both President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in recognition of his outstanding achievements in football and his growing influence as a role model for Nigerian youth.
Governor Sanwo-Olu hosted the Atalanta forward at the Lagos House in Marina, Lagos, celebrating Lookman’s discipline, humility, and remarkable rise in professional football. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Governor praised Lookman for his inspirational journey.
“His journey is a powerful reminder of how far passion, discipline, and hard work can take you. He is focused, grounded, and fully aware of the responsibility he carries as a role model,” Governor Sanwo-Olu wrote. “Thank you, Ademola, for flying the Nigerian flag high and showing the world what we’re made of.”
The visit also included a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, where Lookman presented his CAF Player of the Year plaque — a prestigious award earned for his breakout performances on both the African and European football stages. The warm reception saw the footballer posing for photographs with the President and Governor, marking a proud moment for Nigerian sports.
Ademola Lookman’s visit comes as he continues to gain national and international recognition, following a historic season in Serie A with Atalanta and a standout campaign in continental competitions.
