Nigerian businessman Blord has revealed that he never formally proposed to his wife, describing their marriage as one without the romantic gestures commonly associated with relationships.

Speaking during an interview, the businessman said there was no traditional “Will you marry me?” moment between them. Instead, he said he informed his wife of his intention to marry her and immediately requested her father’s phone number so both families could begin marriage discussions.

“I didn’t propose to her. I think it was in December, I said, ‘I want to get married to you.’ I just told her, ‘Give me your father’s number. Let my father call him. Let’s get married.’ We didn’t do all the ‘Say yes, say yes,’” he said.

Blord also praised his wife’s family for making the marriage process easy, noting that they were not financially demanding.

“She is from Nubi and her people were not expensive. They even contributed to the marriage,” he added.

The businessman further described himself and his wife as an unromantic couple, explaining that his wife was initially more affectionate but gradually became less expressive because he did not reciprocate her gestures.

“She was more romantic before, but due to me not reciprocating, she became like me too. None of us are romantic,” he said.

Explaining further, Blord stated that they do not engage in public displays of affection, revealing that they neither hold hands nor kiss publicly.

“We cannot even hold ourselves on the road. We cannot do all those kisses. We don’t do public display when we’ve not even done inside display. We don’t do all these couple things,” he said with laughter.

He jokingly compared their relationship to that of an elderly couple who have spent decades together.

“We don’t do all these young couples things. We are living like old people that have been married for more than 30 years. In fact, people who have been married for more than 30 years are even better than me,” he added.
