The fourth batch of Nigerians evacuated from South Africa arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Friday, July 10, as the Federal Government continued its repatriation exercise following renewed anti-immigrant protests in the country.
A total of 282 Nigerians arrived aboard a chartered Air Peace flight, bringing the number of citizens evacuated since the exercise began on June 11 to 1,141.
The evacuation was initiated after renewed anti-immigrant protests in South Africa prompted more than 1,000 Nigerians to indicate their willingness to return home.

Officials said the final batch of evacuees is expected to arrive in Nigeria next week, marking the conclusion of the ongoing repatriation programme.
