Reality TV star and entertainer, Hazel Onou, has expressed frustration over what he described as the growing financial expectations associated with dating in Nigeria, jokingly asking fans for a “referral code” to help him find a compatible partner.

The 34-year-old winner of the sixth season of Big Brother Naija shared his thoughts in a video posted on his Instagram page on Sunday.

Speaking in a light-hearted tone, Whitemoney said he believes dating in Nigeria has become increasingly challenging because of constant financial demands.

“I can’t even lie, I’m getting old. Dating culture in Nigeria is becoming something else. Abeg, where them dey see better woman now? Una get referral code?

“Any small thing, billing. Small hello, billing. How are you? Billing,” he said.

The video quickly generated reactions on social media, with many users sharing their views on the state of modern relationships.

While some agreed that financial expectations have made dating more difficult, others suggested the singer may simply be looking in the wrong places.

Whitemoney, who turned 34 on June 6, rose to prominence after winning the sixth season of Big Brother Naija in 2021 and has since built a career in music and entertainment.
