The Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Segun Ogunwuyi, has resigned from the state government.
Ogunwuyi announced his resignation in a letter dated October 2026, stating that his departure took effect from the date of the letter.
In the letter, he described his service to the government and the people of Oyo State as an honour.
“I respectfully write to resign my appointment as Chief of Staff to the Governor of Oyo State, with effect from today,” he said.
Ogunwuyi expressed pride in the achievements of the Makinde administration, saying he was grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the state’s development.
“I remain immensely proud of what we have collectively accomplished in advancing the growth, development and prosperity of our dear State,” he said.
He added that he was confident Oyo State would continue to make progress despite his decision to leave office.
“Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest esteem and unwavering loyalty to Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he wrote.
Ogunwuyi, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, is among several aides to Makinde who have resigned from the government in the past two months.
