Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday looted a warehouse reportedly belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency over the current economic hardship across the country.
The PUNCH learnt that the warehouse is situated in the Phase 3 Region of the FCT area of Abuja.
In a viral video on X (formerly Twitter), the voice of a man present at the scene was heard narrating how many people were breaking into the warehouse and looting different food items at sight.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the spokesperson for the FCT command, Josephine Adeh, verified the incident in a text message saying, “The situation is now under control.”
Recall that recently human rights groups, the Joint Action Front and the Coalition for Revolution hit the streets of Lagos State to protest against the soaring price of food and the high cost of living in the country.
