An Engineer, Five Others Jailed for Internet Fraud in Ilorin, Kwara State Justice Evelyn Anyadike of the Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 sentenced a Civil Engineer, Abeeb Uthman Jasola to six months imprisonment for offences bordering on cybercrime and retention of proceeds of crime. Jasola was prosecuted alongside Oladimeji Abubakar Oseni and Victor Anuoluwapo Kayode by the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on separate charges, to which they pleaded guilty. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has vowed to arrest the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, and bring him before the Federal High Court Abuja for arraignment to answer to the charges preferred against him. According to the panel, Mmesoma had sent a request to JAMB with a different registration number showing a UTME result of an aggregate score of 362, with Eng: 98, Phy: 89, Bio: 94, and Che: 81 which differed substantially from the standard JAMB format where she got an appropriate rebuttal stating her real score of 249.
