S’Court Delivers Judgments On Six Governorship Appeals Today

The Supreme Court will on Friday deliver judgments on appeals challenging the outcome of elections in Gombe, Kebbi, Ogun, Kaduna, Nasarawa, and Delta states. Already the apex court had last week decided the fate of 10 state governors. The Supreme Court has dismissed an application by Emeka Ihedioha, of the Peoples Democratic Party seeking to remove Hope Uzodinma from office as Imo state governor. The applicant was praying to the court to give a consequential order to the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue a certificate of return to Ihedioha as the validly elected governor of Imo state in the 2019 election.
