The returnees were received at the Airport by the representative of the Hon. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, who is the Chairman of the Situation Room on the Evacuation Exercise.and other top government officials.
The JAMB boss, however, called on the students not to tread the path of those who returned to the country over a year ago as a result of Ukraine’s war but refused to comply with the stipulated procedures that would have ensured they continue their academic programmes seamlessly in Nigerian universities.
The officials expressed optimism that the process would be successfully completed.
The voice note said, “Our children have spoiled the efforts that the Federal Government is putting in place to airlift them.
Giving the details on the returnees, she said a total of 376 persons arrived in the country from Eygpt.
The conflict is between the forces of army general Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and his former deputy, General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, who heads the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
The foreigners included “diplomats and international officials”, the ministry said without giving further details.
