Australia is the last member of the secretive Five Eyes security alliance to pursue a government TikTok ban, joining its allies the United States, Britain, Canada and New Zealand.
The app “will be blocked from all parliamentary devices and the wider parliamentary network”, the House of Commons and House of Lords said, adding: “Cyber security is a top priority for parliament.”
Tiktok, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, is under immense pressure across Western countries.
Western powers, including the European Union and the United States, have been taking an increasingly tough approach to the app
