Deputy Speaker applauds Nigerian Workers on May day

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Benjamin Kalu, has lauded Nigerian workers for their resilience and acknowledged their pivotal role in the nation’s development.

A statement commemorating the 2025 International Workers’ Day, Mr. Kalu maintained that the swift approval of the increased minimum wage by the National Assembly was due to the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to prioritise the welfare of civil servants in the country.

He urged Nigerians to remain patient and supportive, adding that the economic reforms embarked upon by the administration would yield long-term benefits.

Mr. Kalu further stressed the importance of collective effort and unity in overcoming the nation’s challenges, enjoining the workers to stand in solidarity with the government.

While assuring that better days lie ahead, the Deputy Speaker wished the workers a successful celebration.
