The Kogi State Government has deployed both aerial and ground security forces after armed bandits reportedly attacked a Cherubim and Seraphim church in Ejiba, Yagba West Local Government Area.
A video shared on Facebook by Egbe Emekun Parrot, credited to Olusegun Iselaiye, shows a state-operated helicopter and an anti-kidnapping squad sweeping through the community in search of the assailants. During the incident, the church pastor, popularly known as Orlando, was abducted alongside an unconfirmed number of worshippers.
The attack, which occurred on November 30, 2025, has heightened fear among residents and deepened concerns about escalating insecurity in the region. Security agencies are currently tracking the perpetrators and working to secure the victims’ release.
Video footage from the scene shows the church in disarray, with shoes, Bibles, and personal items scattered across the worship hall. The individual recording the video narrated how the abduction unfolded, pleading for urgent intervention.
The incident adds to a growing pattern of violent attacks on worship centres and communities across Kogi State, intensifying calls for stronger and more effective security measures.
