For the second time in just one week, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has been honored as Minister of the Year 2024 by The Sun Newspapers. The prestigious award, presented by Ms. Diana Chen, Chairman of CIG Motors Limited, recognizes Keyamo’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s aviation sector and his transformative leadership.

The award ceremony, held on March 1 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, brought together top executives from the corporate world, banking sector, oil and gas industry, and key political figures to celebrate excellence in various sectors.

Keyamo was accompanied by top aviation officials, including Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development; Capt. Chris Najomo, Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA); Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN); and Prof. Charles Anosike, Director General of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET), among others.

The recognition highlights Keyamo’s bold initiatives, infrastructure improvements, and strategic reforms aimed at positioning Nigeria as a global aviation hub. With two major awards in one week, his leadership continues to earn widespread acclaim within and beyond the aviation industry.
