President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, assuring Nigerians that the Federal Government will continue efforts to develop the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other parts of the country.

Tinubu, who was represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, made the remarks during the commissioning of the rehabilitated Old Keffi Road from Kado Fish Market to Deidei in Abuja.

According to the President, the project is expected to boost economic activities by reducing travel time, lowering transportation costs, and improving the movement of people and goods.

“We have cut travel time, we have cut costs for residents, goods will now move faster, markets will breathe, and workers will get to their destinations and jobs with less stress. I dare say that prosperity will increase for the people of this environment,” he said.

Tinubu also commended the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for the “Light Up Abuja” initiative, describing it as a clear example of the dividends of democracy.

“Through your Light Up Abuja initiative, we have integrated street lights here so movement at night is safer and commerce can extend beyond sunset. That is what the dividends of democracy look like,” he stated.

The President urged residents and traditional rulers in the area to protect public infrastructure by preventing vandalism, keeping drainage channels free of refuse, and promptly reporting any damage.

Reiterating his administration’s commitment to development, Tinubu said the Federal Government would continue to execute projects across the FCT, including the area councils.

“We are not slowing down across the FCT. From the city centre to the area councils, we are building for inclusion, safety and growth. Every district deserves access, and every citizen deserves to feel the impact of this administration wherever they live,” he added.

Tinubu further appealed to Nigerians to support the government’s development efforts.

“Let us join hands for good. Let us join hands for development, and together we can build the Nigeria of our dreams,” he said.
