Nigeria has congratulated Malaysia on the occasion of its Independence Anniversary, reaffirming a commitment to deepen long-standing diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
In a goodwill message, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, extended warm felicitations to his Malaysian counterpart, Honourable Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, and the people of Malaysia.
He described the anniversary as a testament to the resilience, unity, and determination of Malaysians in building a sovereign, prosperous, and harmonious nation.
Nigeria and Malaysia share decades of friendship and collaboration in trade, education, investment, and multilateral cooperation. Both countries maintain close ties through international bodies such as the United Nations, the Commonwealth, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the D-8.
Ambassador Tuggar emphasized that Nigeria looks forward to expanding cooperation in new areas while continuing to work together for global peace, sustainable development, and south-south partnerships.
He concluded by wishing Malaysia continued peace, prosperity, and progress.
