A three-storey residential building collapsed early Thursday on Lagos Island, leaving several occupants injured and sparking a swift emergency response.

The incident occurred at Asesi Lane, near Adeniji Adele Road, sending residents into panic as the structure gave way without warning.

Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in a Facebook post that four individuals were rescued alive from the debris and swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Emergency responders, including officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other first responders, quickly mobilized to the scene to commence rescue operations and secure the area.

As of the time of this report, efforts are ongoing to search for any other possible victims trapped in the rubble. Authorities have also begun preliminary investigations to determine the cause of the collapse.
