The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Kannywood actress Samha Inuwa for allegedly mishandling the Nigerian naira.
The anti-graft agency announced the arrest on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, posting a photo of the actress holding a placard showing the details of the alleged offence.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale stated that Inuwa was apprehended by operatives from the commission’s Kano Zonal Directorate after a viral video emerged showing her allegedly using naira notes to wipe her nose.
“The Kano Zonal Directorate of the EFCC on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, arrested a Kannywood star, Samha Inuwa, over alleged naira mutilation,” the commission said.
Investigations are ongoing, and the EFCC confirmed that the actress would be charged to court once the inquiry is concluded.
The arrest is part of the EFCC’s enforcement of Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, 2007, which criminalizes the abuse, mutilation, or improper handling of the naira.
