The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has congratulated Ikharo Attah on his appointment as Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Minister of Education, Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the Council described Attah’s appointment as “well-deserved,” citing his track record of professionalism and dedication to journalism.
“Comrade Attah distinguished himself as Head of News at Independent Television, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, journalistic integrity, and unwavering commitment to media excellence,” the statement read.
The NUJ noted that Attah’s extensive experience in newsroom management and public communication positions him to effectively drive the Ministry’s media outreach and policy dissemination.
“This appointment is a testament to his professionalism, diligence, and immense contributions to the media industry,” the Council stated. “We are confident that he will bring his expertise to bear in promoting transparent communication, educational reforms, and national development.”
The Council also urged Attah to uphold the highest standards of journalism in his new role while supporting the media’s critical role in nation-building.
“We wish him success in his new assignment,” the statement added.
