Veteran politician and New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) chieftain, Buba Galadima, has described Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, as the most credible and strategic politician in Nigeria today.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE News on Friday, Galadima insisted that Kwankwaso remains the politician best suited to lead Nigeria, citing his widespread popularity, proven competence, and refusal to engage in image laundering.

“Kwankwaso is the only politician this country needs and ought to follow,” Galadima declared. “He has remained silent, yet Nigerians campaign for him voluntarily. What more proof do you need of a leader’s acceptability?”
He emphasized that across media platforms and in private conversations, Kwankwaso’s integrity, leadership record, and developmental agenda continue to draw admiration from citizens nationwide.

Amid persistent rumours linking Kwankwaso to a defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Galadima dismissed such claims as political propaganda. He maintained that the former Kano State governor remains committed to the NNPP.

“There’s no evidence he’s joining APC,” he said. “He’s being courted by APC, PDP, and even the coalition, because of his unmatched credibility. But Kwankwaso is a strategic thinker—we will remain in NNPP until the political whistle is blown.”
Galadima also addressed reports of factionalism within the NNPP, stating that there is only one legally recognised leadership under the watch of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“Ask INEC what logo it is using in elections like those in Ondo and Anambra. There’s only one NNPP. The rest is noise,” he concluded.
Galadima hailed Kwankwaso’s broad appeal across regions, especially in northern Nigeria, describing him as electable and capable of delivering true democratic dividends if given the chance to lead.
