The House of Representatives will reconvene for plenary on November 5, reversing its earlier resolution to adjourn sittings until Tuesday, next week.

According to a statement by the House spokesperson, Hon. Akin Rotimi, the decision followed positive developments from ongoing engagements and interventions across various levels of government on the issues that prompted the adjournment, particularly the contractors’ agitationsand the non-release of funds under the 2024/2025 budget.

Rotimi explained that the update was formally communicated to lawmakers through an internal memorandum issued by the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, on Tuesday evening.

The statement noted that the early resumption will enable the House Leadership to brief members on progress made in resolving the issues and discuss other matters of national importance.

“The House is expected to formally rescind its earlier adjournment resolution to allow proceedings to continue,” Rotimi stated.

The House Leadership has urged all Honourable Members to make the necessary arrangements to be present for the plenary session.
