A man identified as Gregory tragically collapsed and died within the premises of the Niger State Government House in Minna.
According to a statement released by the Niger State Police Command on Monday, the deceased had visited one of the government lodges to meet with the Chairman of the Niger Food Security Systems and Logistics Company Limited, Sammy Adigun. However, he reportedly became ill upon learning that his host was unavailable.
Police spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed that Gregory lost consciousness at about 9:30 p.m. on August 2. Officers from the GRA Division responded swiftly to the scene and transported him to IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary, pending an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The police have launched an inquiry to rule out foul play.
