British-Nigerian businessman and influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo, also known as Denisi or Ego, has died following complications from a penis-enlargement procedure during a luxury trip to Thailand with his wife.
Ubiribo, 43, reportedly underwent a cosmetic procedure in Bangkok in March in which 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected into his penis, according to evidence presented at an inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court.
Following the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, reportedly went for a massage. He subsequently complained of chest pain and collapsed twice.
He was taken to Sukhumvit Hospital, where doctors diagnosed him with a pulmonary embolism, a potentially fatal condition in which a blood clot blocks an artery in the lungs.
According to the inquest, medical staff performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for more than 100 minutes. Ubiribo died in the early hours of March 6.
A postmortem examination conducted in the UK reportedly found cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure.
Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently concluded that Ubiribo died from a pulmonary embolism caused by complications arising from the cosmetic procedure.
Ubiribo, who had about 185,000 followers on Instagram, was known for his lavish lifestyle and social media presence.
He was later buried in London in a reported $745,000 gold coffin. Nigerian celebrities, including Davido and Cubana Chief Priest, were among those reported to have attended his funeral.
