Yusuf Albdulazeez appointed as Centre Manager, Environmental Resource Information Centre

In a bid to provide capacity building and linkages that set to put the confluence town of Nigeria, Lokoja on the global education ranking amongst its peers, Comrade Yusuf Albdulazeez has been appointed as the Centre Manager for the newly established Environmental Resource Information Centre of the School of Environmental Technology, Kogi State Polytechnic.

The centre is one of the first innovative joint collaborative initiatives recently approved by the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo, to serve as a platform for capacity building, knowledge transfer and exchange for the polytechnic to leverage technical assistance. The centre is under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Environmental Technology.

The centre is a collaborative initiative of the Kogi State Polytechnic under the leading of Africa Tomorrow Plus Foundation based in Germany & Nigeria and supported by other partners under the coordination of SEEED Coop.-lead promoter of the NigWED Project.

The centre which was conceived by Mr. Lugard Osamudiamhen O., a development expert, who doubles as Director General of NigWED Project as well as President, SEEED Multipurpose Cooperative Society is currently under the supervision of Tpl. (Dr.) Àbraham Sunday Samuel, Dean, School of Environmental Technology who under the directive of the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic to operationalize the centre.

It will be recalled that several meetings between the management of Kogi State Polytechnic, the African Tomorrow Plus e.V Germany and SEEED Coop (Operator of NigWED Project)-promoter of IVD-Africa: Initiative for Volunteers Development in Africa- a platform designed to engage and empower young Africans to leverage the power of information resources to build partnership with multi-stakeholders aimed at providing sustainable environmental management programmes and projects.

The centre seeks to further provide human and technical information resources to design short, medium and long term programmes covering these four (4) departments: Urban & Regional Planning; Survey and Geo-Informatics, Building Technology and Architecture Departments of the School of Environmental Technology.

Comrade Yusuf Albdullazeez an indigene of Okene Kogi State and a graduate of Quantity Surveyor from the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa is a human and social development expert holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management besides having attended several courses he has attended several courses as well as participated in some international donor funded projects in Kogi State.

Comrade Yusuf Albdulazeez whose appointment is for initial term of 2-yrs comes at the inception of this initiative shall see him lay foundation for the centre, mobilize financial, material, technical and human resources needed to execute programmes and projects in consonance with the United Nations International Day of Observance, explore collaboration with other departments of the institution, as well government, private sectors and development partners needed to run and sustain of the centre.
