Soludo Clinches APGA Ticket for Second Term, Receives Overwhelming Delegate Support

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has officially secured the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the November 8, 2025, election in Anambra State.

Soludo emerged as the party’s consensus candidate following a unanimous voice vote from 3,168 accredited delegates representing all 326 wards across the state. Out of a total of 3,175 accredited delegates, 3,172 votes were cast, with 3,168 in favor of the governor and only four votes declared invalid.

Delegates from all 21 local government areas also confirmed the outcome through a reinforcing voice vote, cementing Soludo’s position as the party’s flagbearer.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Soludo expressed profound gratitude to God, APGA leadership, and the people of Anambra for their overwhelming support. He described their endorsement as the driving force behind the progress recorded under his administration over the past three years.

He lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring that the primary election was conducted transparently and in accordance with the 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act 2022, and INEC guidelines on party primaries.

Soludo pledged to deepen his administration’s transformation agenda anchored on five key development pillars, promising continued momentum across all sectors.

Reaffirming his commitment to continuity, the Governor announced that Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim would remain his running mate in the upcoming polls.

A delegate from Awka South LGA, Mr. Chuka Nwannah, hailed Soludo’s leadership, citing significant achievements across various sectors of the state’s economy.

The event concluded with the formal presentation of the nomination certificate to Governor Soludo by the APGA Governorship Primary Election Electoral Committee.
