Veteran television personality Wendy Williams has been thrown into mourning following the death of her father, Thomas D. Williams, who passed away at the age of 94.
The news was announced by news anchor Alex Finnie, Wendy’s niece and goddaughter, via Instagram, where she shared a touching montage of photos and videos celebrating her grandfather’s life.
“It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share — after 94 years of extraordinary love, strength, brilliance, and wisdom, my grandfather Thomas D. Williams has passed,” Finnie wrote.
Expressing her deep sense of loss, she added, “I’ll be loving you always. I know he is in heaven with Nana, watching over our family and continuing to guide us as he always has.”
Finnie described the late Williams as a man of remarkable intellect and service, noting his contributions to both family and society.
“My grandfather was truly a man of great intellect — an author, educator and keeper of historical facts. Papa poured into both family and community. I miss him tremendously,” she said. “I’m a little lost for words right now, but I love you endlessly Papa. Give Nana a kiss for me.”
Following the announcement, tributes and condolence messages poured in from followers and well-wishers.
