The Emir of Kano, His Highness Malam Mohammad Sanusi II, has approved a new round of appointments within the Kano Emirate Council, aimed at reinforcing traditional leadership and preserving the cultural legacy of the emirate.
In a statement issued Tuesday by the Head of Press and Media, Saddam Nasir Na’ando, and made available to Radio Nigeria in Kano, the Emir announced the appointment of Alhaji Mannir Sunusi as the new Galadiman Kano, a prestigious title within the council.
The Emir also approved the elevation of Alhaji Kabiru Tijjani Hashim to the position of Wamban Kano.
Other notable elevations include:
Alhaji Mahmoud Ado Bayero, promoted from Tafidan Kano to Turakin Kano
Adam Sanusi, appointed as the new Tafidan Kano
Ahmed Abbas Sanusi, elevated to Yariman Kano
According to the statement, all appointments take immediate effect as part of ongoing efforts by the Kano Emirate Council to fortify traditional institutions and ensure the continued relevance of the emirate’s cultural and historical leadership skills.
