Soludo wins second term as INEC confirms APGA victory in Anambra State

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Chukwuma Soludo the winner of the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election.

The official announcement was made on Sunday by the Returning Officer, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, who also serves as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, at the INEC headquarters in Awka.

Governor Soludo, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), secured a decisive victory with 422,664 votes, earning him a second term in office.

His closest challenger, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), finished second with 99,445 votes.

Other contenders in the election included Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), who garnered 37,753 votes; George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP), with 10,576 votes; and John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who polled 8,208 votes.

With this victory, Governor Soludo is set to continue his administration’s policies and projects under the APGA platform for another four years.
