Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has submitted a list of 16 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
This move follows the governor’s dissolution of his cabinet on January 3, aimed at appointing technocrats with proven expertise to enhance governance and service delivery in the state.
Announcing the nominations during Monday’s plenary in Lafia, Speaker Danladi Jatau directed the nominees to submit 30 copies of their Curriculum Vitae by Thursday and appear for screening on Monday next week.
The list includes:
Akwanga LGA: Yakubu Kwanta
Awe LGA: Hon. Tanko Tunga
Doma LGA: Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi, Gabriel Agbashi
Karu LGA: Barr. Isaac Danladi Amadu
Keana LGA: Princess Margaret Itaki Elayo
Keffi LGA: Dr. Ibrahim Tanko
Kokona LGA: Dr. John Mamman
Lafia LGA: Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata, CP Usman Baba (retd.)
Nasarawa LGA: Hon. Mohammed Sani Ottos
Nassarawa Eggon LGA: Hon. Mohammed Agah Muluku
Obi LGA: Barr. David Moyi
Toto LGA: Dr. Gaza Gwamna
Wamba LGA: Barr. Jugbo Hauwa Samuel, Hon. Mu’azu Gosho
Notably, three women made the list, along with two former state lawmakers—Umar Tunga and Mohammed Muluku—who are set to join the state executive council.
The screening process is expected to commence next Monday.
