Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has emphasized the need for partnership and collaboration over politics to ensure the success of the South East Development Commission (SEDC).
Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement and reception hosted by Prince Arthur Eze in Enugu, Kalu, represented by Deputy Minority Whip George Ozodinobi, stressed that the commission’s primary goal is to drive growth and development in the region.
He urged stakeholders—including the private sector, diaspora communities, traditional institutions, and government bodies—to work together to achieve the commission’s objectives.
Kalu further advised the SEDC board and management to focus on accountability and transparency in utilizing allocated funds, ensuring that projects directly benefit the lives of ordinary citizens.
He called on the leadership to uphold values of hard work, integrity, and communal progress while executing developmental initiatives.
