2026 Hajj: Kano pilgrims to pay ₦7.69M, deadline set for December 5

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced ₦7,696,769.76 as the official fare for the 2026 Hajj, in line with the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

Confirming the new rate, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, said the approved fare will apply to all intending pilgrims from Kano State.

According to him, pilgrims who had earlier paid ₦8.5 million will receive a refund of ₦803,230.24, while those who deposited ₦8,244,813.67 will get a refund of ₦548,043.91.

Danbappa added that new applicants must pay the full amount of ₦7,696,769.76 to secure a Hajj slot for 2026.

He also announced December 5, 2025, as the deadline for payment, urging all intending pilgrims to complete their payments before the date to ensure participation in next year’s Hajj exercise.

The announcement is part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, proper planning, and timely processing of Hajj arrangements for pilgrims from Kano State.
